Our Mission

“To provide documented facts concerning the origins of our Engle ancestry and by so doing, eliminating the errors that threaten to weaken the solid research done by current and previous family researchers. We strive to create a stable base of fact and detail to give future generations of genealogists a foundation to build upon.”

The heart of all our genealogical work is determining identities and relationships and proving them.
Our Mission

Who We Are....

We, Cee, JMB, Kay, and Deb are descendants of three brothers, Isaac – Levi – William, who are sons of Levi and Nancy Engle.

SueBee is a descendant of Michael Engle, a possible relative of Levi Engle.

We are five cousins, widely separated by time & genetics, united by a common goal.  Collectively, we have over 180 years of research experience!

Your comments, discoveries, documents, photos, family lore and stories are appreciated and open for friendly discussion.

Welcome!

Spectacular Cousin Philosophy

Verifiable Research Is Imperative!

We do not perpetuate known inaccuracies and unproven research. We believe in sound research practices even when we don’t find the answers we seek.

We wish to dispel the inaccurate and unproven Aaron Burr statements regarding the parentage of Nancy A., wife of Levi Engle. We are continuously researching this family hoping to discover Nancy’s true parentage.

Be sure and visit our Engle Genealogy Forum for friendly research discussions.

Monte’s family connects with the Engle family in 1822.  Our common grandfather, Leonard Alkire, rode to Illinois horseback, and bought land at what is now Sweetwater, Menard County, Illinois.

The Imaginary Nancy Ann Burr...

Grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair and spend some time with us!

We invite your full participation as we journey through the records in time to discover the true lineage and history of this early Engle family and their descendants. We want more than dates with dashes.  The dash is what defines the person. The dash tells a story! Your comments and discoveries are appreciated and open for friendly discussion here.  It is possible we may share Engle ancestors if you landed on our website.

Happy genealogy discoveries!
