Alice Bowser Wise 1922-2008
Alice Bowser Wise of Table Grove, Fulton County, Illinois was an early Engle researcher. Fulton County is where Isaac Engle, Sr. relocated to from Sugar Grove. We believe her mother was an Engle. Alice was an ardent researcher back in the days when you had to go to libraries, cemeteries and county court houses to do research. Correspondence was by US mail and we always included an SASE (Self addressed stamped envelope) to encourage the addressee to reply to our query. We honor Alice Bowser Wise for her dedication to Engle and allied families research. Cousin Deb pays tribute to Alice and acknowledges she never would have become as prolific had Alice not "taught her the ropes" of climbing the family tree. Alice shared her research with many over the years. And now, we share it with you.
